This lovely Italian leather tote is handmade in Italy to exacting old-world standards using time-honored techniques. First, the full-grain calfskin from Tuscany’s famous tanneries is patiently tanned for 3 months using only natural vegetable extracts and oils. This results in a rich, supple leather that will grow softer and form a beautiful patina overtime. Next, the leather is passed from one craftsman’s bench to the next (28 in total) where it is cut, skived, sanded, stitched, and more, all by hand. It’s during this process that such features as the zip-top closure, inner zip compartment, outer zip pocket, inner zip pocket, smartphone holder, and American-made cotton canvas lining are added and this classic bag is transformed into a beautiful work of art.
